In Coorg, Thommi, a migrant from Kerala, works under Bhaskara Patelar, a feared local landlord. Thommi survives by obedience while the master’s demands keep expanding. Village errands, disputes, and border-town trips show how power is enforced and how fear becomes habit. As dependence deepens, Thommi measures what obedience costs and what resistance might invite, with the outcome withheld.
