Based on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s novel, the story follows Basheer during a prison term in pre-Independence Kerala. Daily routines and small friendships steady him until he hears Narayani, a woman confined in the neighbouring jail. They never see each other, yet voices across a wall become a lifeline. Messages and small signs build a private world and a hope of meeting beyond the gates, with later turns left unstated.
