Jalsaghar

On a riverbank estate in Bengal, zamindar Biswambhar Roy clings to music soirées in a grand but fading house while a self-made neighbour rises in wealth and influence. Musicians, guests, and staff orbit his insistence on old prestige. As seasons pass, preparing performances becomes a way to deny change. The story holds short of the outcome, keeping to the tension between love of art and the erosion of status.
