Elippathayam

Unni (Karamana Janardanan Nair), a withdrawn landlord in rural Kerala, resists any change to the old order while his two sisters run the household around him. As debts rise and relatives press for decisions, he refuses to adapt, hiding from visitors and delaying action. Everyday tasks—letters, repairs, errands—become trials that others must carry. The film observes this stasis without judgement, building a portrait of a family caught between fading privilege and practical need, while keeping later developments unstated.
